Topic: Sperm Donation

The doctor told me yesterday that my husbands sperm is no good and we would need a sperm donor. My clinic doesn't do sperm donation can you tell me what I can do in Perth?

Re: Sperm Donation

We have donor sperm at Concept Fertility Centre.  The first step is to get a referral from a GP to one of the Concept fertility specialists (a list can be found at www.conceptfert.com.au).  The requirements are a counselling session at Concept and Hepatitis B,C, HIV and Rubella screening.  Once an appointment with the Concept fertility specialist has been made an appointment with the Concept Nurse Co-ordinator and counsellor can be made for just after ( a day or so) the specialist appointment.  Once the Nurse Co-ordinator and counsellor have been seen, a donor is allocated or you are placed on a donor waiting list.  If you need further information please contact me by phone on 9382 2388. Peter Burton. Scientific Director at Concept.

Re: Sperm Donation

Hello Hayley,

It must have come as quite a shock to find out there were difficulties with your partner's sperm - make sure you both take the time to talk to an expereinced approved counsellor before moving down the donor pathway.
Yes there are sperm donation treatment options in Perth at a number of clinics - both clinic recruited and known donation options.
Thanks Dr. Burton for outlining the process and confirming the availability of sperm donors at Concept.

Could all donor issues please be directed to the Donor Threads listed on the Forum
